The 50 centavos tipos
The
50 centavos are probably the 2nd largest denomination produced, considering the
numbers of stamps. The 50 centavos was also (obviously) more profitable.
Unfortunately (for the forgers), as the profitability of the denomination
increased the demand decreased. Still, plenty of 50 centavos tipos were
produced.
Of the 29 offices represented with tipos, only Merida, Cordova, Cuernavaca and Lagos are not represented with 50 centavos tipos.
The 50 centavos tipos are known on paper that is described as "straw" and "lemon yellow". The straw paper is kind of a "bleached" or "faded" yellow that is unmistakable. The "lemon yellow" is a little more difficult to spot as it is real close to the paper shade of the production stamp.
