The 6 centavos tipos

There are few 6 centavos tipos surviving. They are known only for two of the 29 offices represented with forgeries. Only Queretaro and Tulancingo are known represented with 6 centavos tipos. The tipo to the left is a 2nd period tipo and was used in Mexico City bearing that cities circular date stamp.

The 6 centavos stamp is always on buff paper, the forgers did a good job matching the paper. Although there are few surviving examples, the paper is so well matched that it might be that the forgers stole production paper from the GPO to produce their 6s.
