ACAPULCO
The forgers printed many stamps representing the Acapulco office, about 5% of the total production. Just those illustrated on this page show that it was somewhat a popular office for the forgers. It is difficult to say why this is true, Acapulco was not one of the larger offices to receive government issued stamps. Perhaps the forgers thought that it was far enough away that using that offices numbers and district name would make it more difficult for anyone to recognize. And maybe the "ACAPULCO" name selected more closely matched the genuine name. And maybe there was not thought at all given and they just produced more of the Acapulco forgeries.
