MEXICO

By far the office where most of the tipo usage has been recorded. Mexico City usage is approximately 85% of the total. Probably even higher for the high-value stamps such as the 50 centavos and 100 centavos stamps. However stamps produced with Mexico overprints appears to be only about 4% of the overall production. This changes with the high value stamps. For 50 and 100 centavos values, Mexico would be a much higher percentage of the total production, especially 100 centavos.

A close up look at the overprint of the stamp to the left. Note the tiny serif (cross stroke) in the middle of the lower case "x". That stroke does not exist on the original.
